I have always enjoyed telling myself stories and the one of The Other One is somewhat special… I feel like saying that the film was shot in Russia and that we stumbled on it while helping a lady friend move.
In the attic, there was a metal box containing a few moldy documents, some pictures as well as a cassette with film rushes. Documents that seem to have fallen from space. A universe that looked like a creation of a child with an overflowing imagination. The Other One lives a lifetime in one day. He lives, makes friends, falls in love, discovers ecstasy.
With time, the ecstasy disappears, as do the friends. He ends up being alone fighting the wind and wanting to go back in time.
Without a goal, but with the energy to keep moving and to start over again.
WW0711 statement: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY OF A BLAND GHOST is very atmospheric and tight with strong moments. And just uncannily quirky.
