After mom gets hacked to pieces by her latest lover, a devout child fights to escape the same fate. Filmmakers have long used sci-fi & horror to express complex taboo topics. Whether it’s Frankenstein looking for a “friend” or the cold war subtext of the TWILIGHT ZONE, metaphor and symbolism provide the most direct communication of theme. GOODNIGHT, GRACIE seeks not only to entertain with suspenseful moments and stimulating visuals, but to strike at thematic undertones that can only be explored through metaphors of horror.
